CTE Programs: Career Connections Countywide

The following courses are available to juniors and seniors through Clinton County RESA via the Career Connections program. Click on the course name below to learn more about it.  Please see your high school counselor to sign up for a course.  (Subject to change.)

2025-2026 Courses

Allied Health is designed for students who are curious about how the body works and passionate about helping others. In this program, students explore the foundations of health care—from medical terminology and anatomy to patient care, CPR, and safety practices. Whether you’re interested in nursing, physical therapy, medical research, or another health-related field, Allied Health provides the knowledge and hands-on experience to prepare you for a future in health care.

Auto Services is the perfect program for students who love working with their hands, solving problems, and understanding how vehicles work. Students spend most of their time in the shop learning real-world skills like brake repair, engine performance, suspension, and electrical systems, along with an introduction to electric vehicles. Over two years, students can earn multiple Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) entry-level certifications, preparing them for jobs in tire shops, oil change stations, or dealerships—or giving them a head start in college automotive programs.

Entrepreneurship is all about creativity, leadership, and turning ideas into action. In this program, students explore what it takes to start and run a business while gaining real-world experience managing the class café and print shop. Through hands-on learning and online coursework, students develop skills in business planning, marketing, and financial management—all while creating and pitching a business idea of their own. It’s the perfect choice for anyone who dreams of being their own boss or launching a business in the future.

CAD and Design Technology is perfect for students who enjoy creating, designing, and bringing ideas to life. This project-based program blends creativity with technical skill, offering hands-on experience in engineering design and architecture. Students can choose to focus on engineering—learning 2D and 3D CAD software, 3D printing, and product design—or architecture, where they’ll design blueprints, models, and presentation drawings for homes and buildings. Whether your goal is to design the next big product or shape the spaces we live in, CAD and Design Technology provides the tools to make your ideas real.

Computer Networking & Technology is ideal for students interested in how computers, networks, and cybersecurity systems work. This hands-on program introduces the fundamentals of operating systems, hardware, and network security, including topics like cryptography, web security, and defending against cyberattacks. Students gain real-world experience installing and securing systems, troubleshooting devices, and managing computer networks. Along the way, they connect with professionals in the cybersecurity field and can earn industry-recognized certifications such as CompTIA ITF+, A+, and Network+.

Construction Trades offers students hands-on experience both in the lab and in the field, making it an excellent choice for those who enjoy working with their hands, building projects, and spending time outdoors. Throughout the program, students gain real-world experience in every stage of residential construction—from obtaining permits and laying foundations to framing walls, installing electrical and plumbing systems, and completing interior and exterior finishes. By the end of the course, students demonstrate proficiency in core building procedures and practices, preparing them for future work in the skilled trades or further education in construction and related fields.

If you’re interested in law, law enforcement, or the justice system, the Criminal Justice program is a great fit. Students begin by exploring the key components of the criminal justice system—courts, corrections, and law enforcement—while learning about its history, administration, and guiding philosophies. The course also covers community-based corrections, including sentencing, probation, parole, and imprisonment, as well as the fundamentals of criminal investigation and rules of evidence through real-world case studies. Beyond classroom learning, students gain hands-on experience through field visits and training with local agencies and earn their first aid certification as part of the program.

Early Childhood Education is more than preparing for a career in teaching—it’s the foundation for anyone interested in working with people. This program helps students understand how children grow, learn, and develop, which is valuable in more than 100 career fields, from education and childcare to medicine, therapy, social work, and even law. Students learn about child development, positive guidance, and effective communication with children, gaining skills that translate to many professions. Whether your future involves classrooms, clinics, or community work, Early Childhood Education provides a strong start.

Sports Medicine is designed for students interested in careers that combine health, fitness, and helping others recover from injury. This program explores kinesiology, exercise science, injury prevention, rehabilitation, nutrition, and healthy living—all essential parts of the sports medicine field. Students also gain insight into the healthcare environment, learning about ethics, teamwork, and career opportunities. With hands-on experiences, real-world practice, and job shadowing opportunities with local professionals, this course provides a strong foundation for future studies and careers in sports medicine and related health fields.

Video and Audio Production is a creative, hands-on program for students interested in storytelling through media. In this course, students gain experience in every aspect of production—from scriptwriting, filming, and directing to editing and special effects. Working in a professional studio and in the field, they create newscasts, short films, music videos, and commercials while exploring roles such as reporter, producer, and videographer. The audio component dives into podcasting, sound design, and music production, teaching students to create and mix professional-quality audio. Finally, students learn how to bring it all together through digital media production, mastering techniques for streaming and sharing their work online.

Career Connections Welding gives students hands-on experience in one of the most in-demand skilled trades. In this program, students learn key welding techniques—including SMAW (stick), GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), PAC, and Oxy/Fuel—along with fabrication and blueprint reading to meet industry standards. Using modern equipment and materials such as steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and cast iron, students practice real-world welding applications and can advance to pipe welding procedures. With strong job placement opportunities and high earning potential, this program prepares students for immediate employment or further training in the welding and fabrication industry.
